Industrial production in Romania increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2% month-on-month in October compared to the 1.4% increase in the previous month, the National Institute of Statistics reported on Tuesday.
On a yearly basis, industrial production dropped 1.5% in October, mainly due to falling production in the mining and manufacturing sectors. In the first ten months of the year, industrial production slid 7.8% from a year ago.
In a separate report, the statistical office said that new industrial orders grew 5.9% month-on-month in October compared to the 31.7% surge in the preceding month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, industrial new orders dropped 12.5%.
Meanwhile, turnover in the Romanian industrial sector increased 0.5% on month in October, but fell 16.4% on an annual basis.
