The signing of the agreement on border traffic is a sign of the relaunch of ties between Romania and Moldova, said on Friday Romanian caretaker Prime Minister Emil Boc at a joint press conference with his Moldovan counterpart Vlad Filat.
Filat came to Bucharest for the first time since he was sworn in last September, to take part in the Central European Initiative Summit.
Boc said that by the discussions of Bucharest, the two states relaunched the economic, cultural and diplomatic ties, by a range of joint projects. At the same time, the two leaders established the resumption of activity of the joint committees in such fields as energy, SMEs, culture and diplomacy.
The Romanian prime minister thanked his Moldovan counterpart for the opening policy he had adopted immediately after his installation.
Besides the Agreement on Small Border Traffic, the two prime ministers on Friday also signed the Intergovernmental agreement on the checkpoints at the state border and the Protocol amending the Intergovernmental Agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments.
