BUCHAREST -(Dow Jones)- Romanian retail sales rose 7.2% on the month in July, on higher sales in all sectors, the National Statistics Institute said Tuesday, news agency Mediafax reported.
On adjusted data for the number of working days and seasonality, retail sales were up 2.2% compared with June.
Broken down by categories, adjusted fuel sales rose 0.2% on the month in July, while sales of non-food products were up 2.3% on the month. Sales of food, tobacco and drinks rose 0.5% on the month.Year-on-year, unadjusted retail sales fell 13% in July, on yearly declines in all sectors, while adjusted data showed a 13.8% decline on the year.For adjusted data, fuel sales were down 21.4% on the year in July, while sales of non-food products decreased by 12.3%. Sales of food, tobacco and drinks fell 7% in July compared with the same month the previous year.
