Bucharest. Unemployment rate in Romania now runs to 5.2%. It is expected that it will reach 5.4% by the end of March, Romanian President Traian Basescu said on Thursday at a meeting with Romanian and Polish businessmen in Warsaw, Ziare.com reports.
Basescu informed that by end-2008 the unemployment rate in the country ran to 4.7 – 4.8%, compared to the current rate of 5.1%, which is expected to increase to 5.4% by the end of the month.
The Romanian head of state advised businessmen to make investments in the food, tourist and wood processing industry.
