BUCHAREST, Romania: Romanian border police have found a grenade and 10 bullets hidden on a train heading to Vienna from the Romanian capital.

Border police say in a statement that the grenade and ammunition were wrapped in plastic and silver foil, and placed in the ceiling of a toilet, near the water tank.

The train was halted early Monday for five hours at the border with Hungary while police conducted a routine search and interviewed passengers and train staff.

Border police chief Ioan Handra says an investigation is under way. He told Mediafax news agency the police have no suspects.
