BUCHAREST, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Romania sold 152.2 million lei ($49.79 million) worth of five-year treasury bonds on Thursday with the average accepted yield at 12.99 percent, against 13 at a previous auction on Dec. 4, central bank data showed.
On Thursday, the ministry had planned to borrow 500 million lei in 5-year paper. Romania plans to sell 4 billion lei of paper in January. In the fourth quarter of last year, the finance ministry revised its 2008 issuance plans to 12.7 billion lei, from 11 billion, but it actually sold 12.5 billion lei over last year. The ministry has yet to announce treasury issuance plans for this year.
