Romania must resist temptation to join Southern Flow

24 October 2008 | 09:22 | FOCUS News Agency Strasburg.

The Chairman of the European Parliament Foreign Relations Committee Yatsek Sariush-Volski said that Bucharest must resist the temptation to join Southern Flow since this project would increase the country’s dependency on Russian gas and Romania would have to pay prices imposed by Gazprom, the Romanian daily Gardianul reports.

From a strategical point of view this would be a blow for Nabuco, already being weakened by some of the participants – Bulgaria, Hungary and other, who signed agreement for participation in Southern Flow.
