Romania to organize cultural Olympiad in Beijing

BUCHAREST, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Romania will organize in Beijing a cultural Olympiad devoted to the Olympic Games over July 19-26, Culture Minister Adrian Iorgulescu told a press conference here on Tuesday.

According to him, the cultural Olympiad, which include art exhibitions, classical and contemporary music, will be held in three places in Beijing.

"Romania will not only be presented through sports performances but also through cultural performances, which I hope will be well received by the Chinese public, but also by the other officials, sportsmen, political and cultural personalities that will visit Beijing during the Olympiad ... I know that President Basescu will also attend this event in Beijing," said the minister.

The 29th Olympic Games will take place in Beijing between August 8 and 24.
