CEZ says talks over Romania's Cernavoda nuclear plant 'frozen' for now

PRAGUE (Thomson Financial) - Czech power group CEZ said negotiations and a final decision over the construction of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant in Romania have been stalled because the government added new points for negotiation.

Speaking at a news conference, the group's Romanian country manager said a final decision from the government on the plant, in which CEZ should take a 15 percent stake, should come in the next few months, after an original plann to reach a decision last month.

'The decision is frozen now,' Jan Veskrna, country manager Romania, said.

CEZ officials added the construction should not be delayed.
