Industrial-plant builder Kremsmüller based in Steinhaus near Wels in Upper Austria is expanding in Romania.
The firm has said that its Romanian subsidiary Kremsmueller Romania has hired an additional 284 workers, raising the total number to 370.
The reason for the expansion is the subsidiary's framework agreement with Austrian oil and gas producer OMV's Romanian subsidiary Petrom.
Kremsmüller Romania will provide all necessary services at Petrom's refinery in Pitesti and a number of them at Petrom's refinery in Ploesti.
OMV wants to raise the refineries' capacity and efficiency.
Kremsmüller reckons that its Romanian subsidiary will contribute 20 per cent of its annual turnover.
Kremsmüller has been providing services to OMV at its refinery in Schwechat near Vienna for some time.
Kremsmüller employs 2,300 people and had turnover of 176 million Euros in 2007. It is a private firm that has been owned by one family since its founding in 1961.
