New Check Points to be Opened at Bulgaria, Romania Border

Bulgaria's Regional Development Minister Assen Gagauzov and his Romanian counterpart Laszlo Borbely are to open Thursday the new checkpoints at the border between the two countries.

The points, which are part of a common ferry complex, have been constructed in Bulgaria's town of Silistra and Calarasi in Romania.

The value of the project is set at EUR 6 M and it has been financed by Phare programme.

There will also be opened a new ferry line between the two towns on the Danube banks until the end of September.

After the opening ceremony, the two ministers will discuss other joint infrastructure projects as well as new initiatives in the sphere of construction and public works.
