Romania's Economy and Trade Ministry Undersecretary Mugur Popovici, accompanied by a delegation from the Romanian Foreign Investment Agency Council (ARIS) paid a visit to Izmir on Thursday.
During his visit to the Izmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), Popovici called upon Turkish businessmen to invest in Romania. Romania became a member of the European Union last month, reminded Popovici, adding that the country via its full membership to the EU now has access to a market with a population of 500 million.
Reminding them that Turkey ranks number four among the countries trading in Romania, Popovici said that the commercial relations between the two countries has made a significant improvement in the last decade via a free trade agreement.
Meanwhile Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters Association (EHKIB) President Jak Eskinazi said that Romania ranked number nine with regards to countries trading with Turkey.
With Romania's membership to the EU, commercial relations between both countries would increase, he said.
